Leprechauns, Rainbows, and some Classroom Freebies

Writing poetry with yours students can be so much fun around the theme of leprechauns and rainbows.  We always read aloud several stories about leprechauns and their love of gold.  After reading about leprechauns we brainstorm descriptive words about leprechauns - tiny, greedy, tricky, smart, Irish, search for gold, etc.  We create acrostic poems, write stories about how to catch a leprechaun, and illustrate St. Patrick Day's Poems.

I have put my favorite leprechaun and rainbow writing activities together in a collection.  Click on the picture to see what in included in this $2.00 fun set of writing graphic organizers, word walls, poems, and completed project ideas.

I am linking up with Classroom Freebies to share a couple  St. Patrick's ideas I love.  Here is a fun leprechaun poem you can grab for free from my TpT store in color and black and white.
And lastly, also FREE is this fun pot of gold (shamrocks) with a rainbow flowing from the bottom of the pot.  It includes craft pattern, directions, and writing prompt and lined paper.  Click on the picture to get your and see my classroom with them hung from the ceiling below!
